about

So the JVA dudes have always liked The Aquabats. They are fun and really good musicians and Travis Barker was in their band way back in the day. They tried numerous times to create their own super hero TV show, but it never really worked. They kept on kicking ass and created Yo Gabba Gabba, which is an awesome kids show that features appearances by great bands that young moms and dads like too. Im pretty sure they finally came up with their own TV show that actually has more than a pilot episode, but I havent seen it. Anyway, the Aquabats never quit. They developed a cult following that, over time, became a huge international following. Their weird little band hit it big by never quitting, which is totally commendable. So in about 2007 or so punknews.org put the word out about an upcoming Aquabats tribute album that was being put together by their fan club. Mikey jumped all over this and insisted we do "Perfect Plastic Lips." It was lots of fun. Nick sang his parts realllly drunk on a whiskey Wednesday at Mike's old house on "E" Street. None of us could believe that Eric Mellow could sing as high as the Bat Commander. As usual, Nick didn't play any guitar on the recording. Matty did the spoken word stuff at the end of the song, which makes me laugh every time I hear it. Oh, and the tribute album was never released! The fan club released a list of bands they had selected, which brought some due criticism to JVA. The first comment on the tracklisting was something like, "How the fuck did a fall out boy cover band get on an aquabats tribute album!?" Meh. It happens.

*Also included our recording of the Degrassi: The Next Generation theme. Matty, Eric, and Mikey recorded this on Thanksgiving day '07 while heavily day drunk and bored. Nick was with his family out of town for the holiday and was very displeased to come home to three drunken buffoons, and this track.

The JV Allstars Lincoln, Nebraska

The JV Allstars are a pop-punk band from Lincoln, Nebraska. Established in 2000, they started like any band does, by sucking. In time, they got a little better and had lots of fun and toured a lot and released a bunch of music. Thanks!
