about

Hold On To This is the last studio album by The JV Allstars. It was written primarily as a tribute to our friends who have passed away and to all the people who befriended us and supported us in our lives and travels. It was tracked at Plan C Recording with lots of help from a lot of people, and was released thanks to a donation from Nathan and Jenni Schnur, two of our good friends from Iowa. Sadly, Nathan did not survive his fight with pancreatic cancer long enough to hear the album he helped make. 03*02*09 is a song for our friend Adam McCabe who died suddenly while we were on tour. We were about to visit him for the second time in a month when we heard the news. The song is a collaboration between JVA and Matty, Jordan Reed, Brian Reier, and Cory Hachiya. Matty, Cory, Jordan, and Brian wrote the original "Adam's Song," after Adam's death. Lyrics from the original "Adam's Song" can be found in 03*02*09, specifically on the group vocals at the end of the track.

The fine tuning for this album happened while the band was spread out over a few thousand miles. The songs were recorded but the album was not finished. Colby Sanchez had joined as our new bass player, but by the time the album was released was living in Chicago. Eric was living in Arizona (although he did sing on the record and play a few songs at the release), and Matty went from Lincoln to Arizona to Nashville somewhere in the making of the record. The band came back together on December 23rd, 2011 for a final show to release the album. It was debauchery at its finest. For the first and last time in the band's long history, JVA had sold out a show at Knickerbockers, their favorite spot for releasing records.

about

The JV Allstars Lincoln, Nebraska

The JV Allstars are a pop-punk band from Lincoln, Nebraska. Established in 2000, they started like any band does, by sucking. In time, they got a little better and had lots of fun and toured a lot and released a bunch of music. Thanks!
