about

Zoom was a sampler that we put out before Take Me Back to Spectre was released. That cute little creature riding around on a flying, farting elephant? Totally the idea of Saber Blazek. We asked him to draw us something awesome for an album cover and he came up with the cutest, weirdest thing possible. Anyway, so at this point in JVA, the band had representation in Japan and the United States, with specific distribution rights in both countries. Trolley Bus records, our super awesome label in Japan, advanced us money to make "Take Me Back To Spectre." The trade off was that the Japanese version of the album would have 3 bonus tracks only for Japanese buyers -- which it did. Trolley Bus also wanted to release the album first. So while we were waiting in the States, Trolley bus set out and began promotion for the record that we hoped would put us on tour in Japan. In the meantime, the band couldnt sit around and we didnt want to keep pushing GFYBFYG because we had a new album ready to press. We compromised by putting out "ZOOM," which was our favorite tracks from our previous album, and a handful of songs from Take Me Back To Spectre. It was a very small release with a limited number of copies, as we only needed enough to sell until Trolley Bus had released Spectre -- which meant that we could release Spectre here. Matt Hova, who had been helping the band demo tracks for Spectre, was a big part of this release, arranging three acoustic tracks for ZOOM -- an old acoustic version of "Her Loss," originally recorded at Heart Throb Studios with Calvin Hughes, and two new acoustic tracks for The "Christening" and "Im an Obtuse Man, So Ill Try to be Oblique." Hova also programmed the electronic music for "Good Time Island," and played keys on "Hows It Going Royal Ugly Dudes?"

about

The JV Allstars Lincoln, Nebraska

The JV Allstars are a pop-punk band from Lincoln, Nebraska. Established in 2000, they started like any band does, by sucking. In time, they got a little better and had lots of fun and toured a lot and released a bunch of music. Thanks!
